So this has been my life lately -
My mom was diagnosed with advanced stage 3 breast cancer. She refused chemo and instead opted for a double mastectomy, hoping the cancer had not spread yet, though she’s probably going to have to go through chemo at some point considering how long she had the tumor and how by the time any action had been taken, the surrounding tissue was already dead.
The day before my mom’s operation, my grandmother went into the hospital with labored breathing and we learned that her condition regarding her congestive heart failure was worsening.
My mom went into her operation the next day and it went over without a hitch. The doctors didn’t even have to do a skin graft to cover the area of dead tissue. The following day, my grandmother was released from the hospital (probably a day or two too early), and my mother remained in recovery.
About two nights after my grandma was released, my uncle was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital because his ammonia levels had risen dangerously high, all due to the fact that he is in the end stages of liver failure. No one was able to attend with him seeing as how he, my grandmother and I are the only ones in the house at the moment and given her condition, she was unable to travel and I had to stay to care for her. The next morning the doctors said he was possibly in a coma and it was highly likely he was also suffering from a brain aneurysm.
Fast forward to today, my mom has been admitted to a rehabilitation center for at least two weeks to recover from her surgery, my grandmother has been improving slightly but still requires quite a bit of supervision, and my uncle has woken up, is responsive, and the scans have shown no bleeding anywhere in his brain. So yeah, it’s been kind of a busy week.
